Our 2024/2025 Travel Plan
Doing the snowbird thing, each year we have our itinerary mapped out for the entire trip before we depart. Our journey always starts out by heading West to visit some of Jill’s family members then works South from there down to the Gulf Coast with enough stops along the way to keep the total drive time each day a reasonable duration– typically five hours or less between stops if possible.
That same route in the summer would likely involve more planning but in the winter the RV parks that are open year round typically have many open sites. More than once we’ve found only one or two fellow campers in the entire campground we were at.
Our plans typically take us along the same basic route where we visit some of our favorite places and visit friends and family members along the way. There are few “favorites” when it comes to parks but each year we also try to visit new parks and experience new sights. Sometimes that works out great, but a few times this strategy has us adding a new site to our “places to avoid” list.
